About Guides:
Guides is a place for girls to learn new, useful skills that they can use in life, socialise with peers around the same age and to guide the girls through their teenage years whilst enjoying many enjoyable activities and experiences. Through the activites that the guides participate in weekly the girls work towards badges or ‘Go For its’. Guides is for girls from the age of 10 years old up until the age of 16 years old where they have the chance to become a young leader and help with the organisation side of our activities and helping the other of the guides with the activities they participate in.
What we do in guides:
On the third Sunday of every month the guides attend the All Ages Service at Court Hey Methodist Church, during which they parade down the aisle with flags and contribute to the service in various ways.
We play games that keep us fit and healthy. They are really fun and active too; we all enjoy them. To keep our minds healthy we do puzzles, quizzes and spelling games. We do artistic and creative things to show our talents. We do lots of group things to teach us team work and improve our listening skills. And we cook too!"
